One team. Two mandates.
Partners and investors who source, underwrite, restructure and back the companies in our portfolio.
The people behind both engines.

Tim Latif
General Partner & CEO
Tim founded EXA Capital and leads its investment strategy across both mandates. Educated at Heidelberg University, he is an entrepreneur before an investor, and that shows in how the firm works: taking control positions in industrial businesses others write off, then rebuilding them operationally rather than financially. He has driven the firm's buy-and-build programmes in German mid-market services, its move into UAE manufacturing and building materials, and its expansion into East Asia. He also chairs the board of one of the firm's insurtech holdings.

Marek Zelazny
General Partner
Marek is a commercial, operational and strategic finance leader with experience spanning early-stage ventures through to global late-stage technology businesses. His background covers corporate strategy at a major international internet and media group, finance leadership at a venture-backed high-growth business, and private equity investing at a European buyout firm. He is CIMA-qualified and holds an MSc (Hons), and his expertise runs across strategic finance, investor relations, M&A, corporate development, P&L optimisation, working capital management and building finance functions from the ground up.

Hossein Sadatipour
Senior Associate
Hossein brings the firm's technical capability, covering digital transformation and AI adoption across the portfolio. He works at the operating end of EXA's venture activity, serving as chief executive and board member of one of the firm's UAE insurtech holdings, and combines an engineering background with hands-on company-building — running a regulated, revenue-generating platform rather than analysing one from the outside. That perspective shapes how he assesses early-stage opportunities and how the firm modernises the traditional businesses it acquires, from AI-enabled operations in industrial services to platform architecture in its technology holdings.

Tina Nezhad
Investment Associate
Tina works across both of EXA's mandates, covering private equity, M&A and venture capital. She joined the firm in 2021 and moved into her investment role in 2025, having previously led its legal function and key account relationships — a background that gives her an unusually direct grounding in how the firm's holdings are structured and governed. Her earlier career was in legal and operational management roles across German industrial and technology businesses.

Jules Mougin
Investment Associate
Jules works on EXA's private equity transactions from origination through to execution. He holds an MSc in International Business from the University of Birmingham and a BBA from Shenzhen University, and studied Chinese alongside it — a combination that maps directly onto the firm's cross-border deal flow between Europe, the Gulf and Asia. His earlier experience covers venture capital investment analysis and cross-border M&A across Asia-Pacific.

Ilke Kizilaslan
Investment Manager, Eastern Europe
Ilke covers EXA's investment activity across Eastern Europe. He was educated at the University of Cambridge and works as an investment professional focused on the region, sourcing and assessing opportunities in markets where the firm's industrial and services theses translate well.

Kian Gerowgan
Investment Associate
Kian's expertise is in M&A advisory and cross-border sourcing, procurement and supply chain across the Europe–UAE–China corridors. He is based in Germany, close to the firm's German industrial and services holdings, and works on transactions where the value sits in operational and supply-side improvement rather than financial engineering.

Yakov Deripasko
Investment Associate
Yakov works across the lifecycle of EXA's private equity transactions, from origination through execution, while monitoring portfolio companies and supporting the senior team on investment decisions and strategy. Based in London, he has a background in M&A and debt advisory, bringing a corporate finance perspective to the firm's European investment activity.

Callum Edward
Junior Associate
Callum works across deal sourcing, investment analysis and portfolio management for EXA's investment team in Dubai. He comes from investment banking, with M&A experience at a boutique advisory firm in London and an earlier analyst career covering M&A, IPOs, SPACs and capital markets across Dubai and Shanghai. That cross-border grounding between the Gulf, Europe and China maps onto the firm's deal flow, and gives him a markets-and-transactions perspective on the opportunities EXA evaluates.

Simi Sam
Office Manager
Simi manages EXA Capital's Dubai office and keeps the firm's day-to-day operations running, supporting the investment team across scheduling, coordination and the practical business of a firm working across several time zones.
